The Apology
A nightmare returns to me
unsolicited
twisting it's knife
in my old would
doubled over
that old pain
that old scar
not yet healed
bleeds easy
too easy
I can't cry
I can't release
I can't breathe
A fantasy past
passing it's gene of pain through me
my worst fears tap my shoulder
remind me
what could've happened
what did happen
my own judgment
my own persecution
I'm sorry
Forgive me
I'm sorry
