The Student

I've recently learned

the plain and simple Buddhism

It teaches awareness

similar to the matrix

Seeing the world as it is

is just as frustrating

as the ignorance most live by

We are blinded by a biased past

taught by suspect teachers

We fear our undeniable fate

bitter from our lack of control

angry that life is so hard

It takes maximum effort

to reclaim our mind

our soul

to feel the blanket of responsibility

yet resist the urge to escape it

Finding peace

has always been our homework

There is no time limit

Our only assignment

is that we see

and know

the truth
